In Graphically Inclined, each castaway was to design a graphic or advertisement of some sort for one of the following:
Some aspect of the Kalahari Desert or Botswana as a whole This series Amanda, Parvati, or DDanielle
There were no limits on what they could do. Photoshop, hand-drawn images, video advertisements, etc. They would be judged on their idea and its execution, visual appeal, neatness, relation to the theme, and how well they sell their idea.
A great variety were submitted; they are posted in this topic in order of placement, from worst to first (Note: Richard and Penner did not submit), with the arguments and general feedback. Enjoy!

8th PLACE - BANNEDGIE "Eh...the only reason I made this is because if I don't I have a self-vote, so it's either make something I don't really care about or throw the challenge like I always do and get taken out of the game. I guess if you wanted to give me a point or two you could just note the fact that I chose a Kalahari Marshland instead of the desert to show there's more than one side to this place? I dunno. I cbf tbh." Judges' Comments:SCORE: 6/250 (The record low in this series!)

7th PLACE - JEN "This is my interpretation of a teaser poster for Survivor Kalahari, focusing on Host Amanda and the elephant that stole her hat. It is meant to be an exaggeration, of course Amanda wouldn't roast the poor elephant that stole it ( the viewers will see on the first episode she gets it back without the need for violence) but it should amuse the viewers enough to give the first episode a chance, and hook them right away." 6th PLACE - CHELSEA "I chose to use this challenge to portray Amanda! I picked this particular picture, because this is how I think the real Amanda would be. While she is still gorgeous in the casting photos, she's definitely the type of girl that doesn't mind if her hair gets messy and always has a smile on her face. Not to mention, she has her hat on that just makes her seem like even more of a real person. I used the light blue border to match the sky in the background as well as to make it pop a bit. I chose to write the phrase "The Goddess" on there because lets face it; Amanda is a goddess and everybody should know it. And, this was the picture from when she found the HII in Micronesia, which shows that she has beauty and brains! " Judges' Comments:SCORE: 146/250

5th PLACE - BRENDA "Everyone has heard the phrase "Kiss Me, I'm Irish." Well, Amanda Kimmel may not be Irish, but that should not stop you from kissing her - or at least desiring to kiss her. This exuberant beauty travels the world bringing happiness to everyone she meets. After a harsh storm, you can always count on the Goddess of the Heavens, Amanda, to dance across the fields and bring the light of a gorgeous rainbow to cover the area and grant hope to all the locals. Without Amanda, there would be no calm before the storm. Without Amanda, there would be no light at the end of the tunnel. And, without Amanda, there would be no rainbow to symbolize the promise of love made by Amanda, Goddess of the Heavens, so many years ago." Judges' Comments:SCORE: 152/250

4th PLACE - YAU-MAN" So......... I am a perfectionist at heart, and worked hours on splicing cropping downloading creating this hot mess below but it is a hot mess that I am proud of!!!!
Once upon a time there was a frail old man who most knew as Yau. He traveled the land in hopes of discovering amazing goddesses and uncharted territories. One day he came across a mirage in the Kalahari dessert and swore he saw a parchment unveil before his very eyes.
Suddenly Yau Man was filed with wonderment and excitment mustering every ounce of energy to complete the task before him. This is what went into his thoughts as he worked away...
If he was going to seek any set of goddesses they must be Parvati, DDaniele, and the ultimate goddess herself, Amanda. These three ladies deserved the best and the task would be hard.
No video is without the need of the perfect setting and here in the vast desert of Kalahari and Deception Valley itself he would continue the amazing journey that he himself completed in season 1. This season though would be based around his three favorite goddesses.
Yau man wanted to show off the amazing desert, but also needed something with POP, and to POP he found Mr Elephant, who knew that Amandas Elephant had a baby season 1. and Now her growing son proudly walked the land of Kalahari wearing the very hat his mother passed down as she walked off the desert with Amanda into the sunset.
Finally no video is without a tune but what tune has not been over worked. The theme of survivor was not good enough for Amandas Kalahari : Femme Fatale, and then it dawned on Yau Man, that this season would be intense and require intense deep music. Like a gift from above he began to hum to Madrugada's Valley of Deception. It was just the kick this video needed.
What seemed like days of putting together images, videos, and making the magic happen the finished project rose...
*Yau Mans eyes fluttered open,.... did I dream it, was it real, did I really get to spend an entire season on the island again with Amanda, Parvati and DDaniele... time would tell as he laid his head down for a nap and waited for results....
Thanks Guys That was fun <3 YauMan" Judges' Comments:SCORE: 181/250

3rd PLACE - COURTNEY "In choosing this specific photo I thought of my honeymoon and how romantic it was... When you think of African Safari's you don't think of 5 star romantic amenities that you get here at the Kwetsani Camp. After a day of Safari watching you come back to the bliss and serenity of a luxurious hut with a view of the Okavango Delta. A small private pool awaits you as well. Book your stay today!" 2nd PLACE - SHAWNA "With my design, I borrowed from the desert to come up with a minimalist advertisement for the Kalahari. I find the landscape to be striking and haunting and lonely, and tried to convey that by just having the greeting over the picture, with no other words to distract from the natural beauty of the place. I picked the fonts to develop the evocative aspect and to highlight the zebra, one of the few large desert animals. Finally, I added the copyright to show that this is a plausible advertisement, and connected it back to the real world." Judges' Comments:SCORE: 200/250

1st PLACE - ANTHONY "I made a graphic for advertising this series. My comic strip goes through the history of the series. It pays a tribute to Amanda and Erik who started started this series, and it pays a tribute to DD and Parvati who both won their original season. I chose to include the GTI scene, because it will raise questions with whoever is not familiar with the series. The strip ends with the most recent season and Erik advertising the website. I should win this challenge, because this graphic looks amazing, it's a definite eye catcher, and it combines several options we were given for this challenge while still clearly advertising the series."
