Giseppa Mjowabe wanted to be the next big thing. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, which had been a successful run country before it was invaded by the white men, Giseppa was a strong independent woman. Giseppa all her life wanted to conquer the world and become a woman of power. She had one dream and one dream only: to fly around the world.
Giseppa was well educated and the fairest maiden of them all and believe you me, this was way before the times of Amelia Earhart. Today would be Giseppa’s day to prove herself as a strong independent woman. Over the past few years, Zimbabwe’s air force organizations had grown, and they were ready to send one of their own on a flight around the world. Giseppa wanted to be that one person.
You see, Giseppa was at the top of her class and excelled in many of the important subjects that a pilot would need to excel in to fly around the world. She was ready. However, there was only one obstacle in her way: she was a woman.
Despite Zimbabwe being much more advanced than any of the other countries at the time (hence why it was called GREAT Zimbabwe), the women rights movement had been held at a standstill.
“A woman? A woman doing a man’s job?” many of the residents thought. But Giseppa was ready to break the glass ceiling. After all, if she didn’t do it, who would?
After pulling a few strings and performing a few favors, Giseppa finally got the green light to fly around the world. As she laced up boots and zipped up her uniform, she smiled because she knew that this trip would ultimately lead to her legacy.
And it would be a legacy that would change the world forever…
As Giseppa started up the engine and waved her goodbyes, her mother began crying.
“That’s my baby!” she muttered while sobbing uncontrollably.
With a final deep breathe, Giseppa glided off into the air and she was off on her journey. The plane took off like it was autumn leaf. Gracefully.
Giseppa was headed towards the continent we know as Australia, and unbeknownst to her knowledge, she ended up going too far and ended up landing in the middle of a Pacific island.
As Giseppa landed her plane, she took a look outside. It was gorgeous! Giant palm trees filled her eyes as she took a glance onto the beach. It was beautiful! It was paradise! Giseppa couldn’t believe how glamorous an island could look. Sure, she didn’t land in Australia, but she landed in a better place. This was her own version of heaven and she was glad she stumbled across it.
Giseppa continued to explore the island. She looked at the exotic flora and fauna and knew that she had to arrive back to Zimbabwe. If only she did make it back to Zimbabwe.
Soon Giseppa had made it to an islander village. The villagers gazed at her in disbelief. Some were angry, some were enthused and others, mostly the women, were disgusted. Before Giseppa could even utter the words “hello,” a bunch of tribe men came out running in spears. With a jab and a stab, the tribe men had penetrated through Giseppa’s body. She took a final breath and fell to the ground. Her life was over. The dream she had once created would go unfulfilled and Giseppa would never be able to have her legacy told…
Not the way she wanted to, anyways…
The tribe men had been convinced that Giseppa was a cursed sole who was coming to destroy their village. They buried her skull in the sand and moved to another island to avoid being caught in the undertow of Giseppa’s “wrath.” No one had set foot on that island for decades… until now.
Stephanie Valencia had to use the bathroom. She had been drinking a lot of coconuts this morning and just had to go. As she was going out into the thick jungle to release her bladder, she tripped and fell to the ground.
“What the hell?” she questioned.
Stephanie was looking around for what made her fall and eventually came across a skull. The skull of Giseppa Mjowabe.
“Is this an immunity idol?” Stephanie questioned, but she had thought there was only one on Exile Island. After her potty break, she went back to the camp to show the tribe her latest discovery.
“Looks like a skull to me,” Tracy revealed.
“Yeah, it definitely looks like something,” Heidi responded.
“It’s just so creepy,” Stephanie began, “like, why is there, like, a skull, like, on our, like, beach?”
Nobody knew about the why Giseppa’s skull was there. Lill had originally thought it was just a rock and Linda concluded that it could be a coconut too.
“We’ll never know what it is…” Tyson began, “so here, let me take it out of your way.”
Tyson began to smash the skull against the rock. It had been obliterated into a billion pieces.
“That’ll do it,” said Tyson.
Immediately the women felt offended by what Tyson had just done. If that was their skull, they wouldn’t want him abruptly destroying it.
“We won’t have to worry about no frickin’ skulls anymore,” Tyson concluded.
Little did Tyson know that what he had just done was about to open a bunch of storms to the Fangatau tribe.
You see, Giseppa Mjowabe NEVER wanted to be undermined by a man. Her whole point of living was to be an ambassador for women all around the globe. For Tyson to go and smash her skull into a million pieces, it angered Giseppa. A curse was going to be released. No man would survive such curse when Giseppa was done with them… her legacy had be cemented.
