Senior Prom
It was the end of senior year and everyone was worried about finding prom dates. All of the guys were nervous to ask the girls because they didn’t want to get rejected, while all of the girls were nervous because they wanted the right guy to ask them, not someone who they hate and find disgusting. In particular, there were three girls who stood out above the rest and every guy dreamed of taking one of these girls to the prom. Their names were Kim, Jenna and Colleen and they were the superstars of the senior class. Of course, every group of girls has their own little drama going on and in this case, the drama was all in the form of a girl named Darrah. Darrah thought that everyone in the school liked her and wanted to be her, when in reality, everyone despised her and wanted nothing to do with her. So, when it came time to picking prom dates, Darrah expected to be bombarded with many different guys asking her to go with them.
There were these three guys who were all pretty close friends and they all were interested in going with Kim, Jenna or Colleen. The guys’ names were Brett, Austin and Russell and none of them had really talked to any of the girls much before, so they were all worried that they would get rejected and embarrassed. However, the girls all secretly wanted to be asked by one of these three guys and they really had no preference as to which one. And of course, Darrah thought that one of those three guys would ask her as well. She wanted to go with them just as bad as Kim, Jenna and Colleen did so when she saw them, she got very excited.
Brett was walking down the hall to go to his locker when he saw Darrah coming the other way. “Oh no, not this bitch,” he said under his breath so that she wouldn’t hear.
“Hey Brett!” said Darrah in excitement.
“Oh, hey Darrah. How are you?” asked Brett as he tried to act like he cared at least somewhat.
“I’m good, just nervous about the prom. I still haven’t been asked and I feel like I might not get asked at all!” she said as she was twirling her hair like she was nervous about his response. She wasn’t really nervous about not being asked yet, because she knew someone would ask her eventually. She wanted to bring up the topic of prom to Brett so maybe he would think to ask her and that was the only way she could think of bringing it up.
Brett wasn’t really sure what to say to that and he really wanted to make it seemed like he cared. “I’m sorry Darrah, I’m sure someone will definitely ask you soon!”
“Anyone you think in particular?” Darrah asked him as she started rubbing her hands along his enormous abs.
“Well, um, see I….I really have to get going,” said Brett as he took Darrah’s hands off of him and scurried down the hallway.
“He’s just playing hard to get,” Darrah thinks to herself as she continues about what she was doing before.
Meanwhile in class, Brett decided to sit behind Kim that day because he was ready to ask her to prom and he told himself that he was going to do it before the class was over. It was math class and Brett hated math so he didn’t mind taking up his class time by asking her. Austin and Russell were also in this class and they kept trying to give Brett pointers on how he was going to go about asking.
“Slip her a note,” Austin whispers to Brett from across the room.
“That’s so lame, just ask her already!” Russell shouts as the whole class hears him. Everyone looks at Russell and his face becomes more and more red. Finally, while he had everyone’s attention, he made his move. “Colleen, will you go to prom with me?”
Colleen, who was sitting two rows over from Russell, looked shocked as she was not expecting that to happen. “Yes I will!”
“Awwwww!” coming from the rest of the class as they all just watched Russell and Colleen become a couple for the prom.
Brett’s stomach was getting very upset. As the class kept getting closer to being over, he got more and more nervous because he knew there would be no other chance to ask her. So he tapped Kim on the shoulder and she turned around.
“What’s up?” asked Kim.
“I was just wondering if you….”
“YES!” Kim shouted loudly enough for the whole class to hear again as she interrupted Brett mid-question. “I have been waiting for you to ask me for a few days now!”
Brett was very excited and he would have never expected that kind of response from Kim Powers of all people. He felt like he was on top of the world.
Considering that Jenna, who is best friends with Kim and Colleen, still did not have a date, the girls decided they wanted to hook her up with someone. Austin, who was best friends with Brett and Russell, also still did not have a date, so it was a good match.
“Austin, would you want to go to prom with Jenna?” asked Brett and Russell as they were hoping that he would say yes.
“Hell yeah I would, she’s smokin!” he said in total excitement at the thought of going to prom with Jenna.
Meanwhile, the girls were asking Jenna the same thing about Austin. “Would you want to go to the prom with Austin if he were to ask you?” asked Kim.
“Austin is a very nice boy and I would love to go to the prom with someone as nice as he is,” Jenna said.
So Kim, Brett, Colleen and Russell all decided that it would be best to set up Jenna and Austin so that their whole little group could go together.
The next week, it was the day before the prom and everyone had found dates. Everyone in the senior class was excited and ready to have the time of their life, except for one person. Darrah, the girl that knew she would be asked by someone, still had not found anyone to go with and she knew that it was a lost cause. Darrah was upset, but she didn’t want anyone to know how upset she really was. However, to some people, it was obvious that Darrah was ready to break down and start crying.
Darrah saw Kim after school one day and started talking to her about the prom. “No one asked me to prom, but I’m not worried about it. I have so many other things that I can be doing that are way more fun than going to a stupid prom.”
Kim noticed that Darrah started to look more and more upset as the conversation went on. “Are you okay Darrah?”
“No, I’m not. Why didn’t anyone ask me to the prom?” Darrah asked as she started to break down in tears.
“Well Darrah, I hate to tell you this, but no one actually likes you.” Kim said as she tried her hardest to hold back from laughing at Darrah.
“What do you mean? Of course everyone likes me. I have all the boys wrapped around my finger, they were just too shy to ask me because they didn’t want to be rejected probably,” explained Darrah as she did not believe what Kim had said.
“No, seriously, no one likes you Darrah. Everyone talks about you behind your back, everyone thinks you’re a psycho and everyone just finds you very annoying and cannot stand you. That is why no one asked you to the prom, not because they were too shy,” said Kim.
Darrah, being the stubborn psycho bitch that she is, of course has to argue about it with Kim and deny everything that Kim is saying. “You have no idea what you’re talking about, everyone loves me!”
So, Darrah figured that she would go around asking people whether or not they actually liked her and if that’s why she didn’t have a date to the prom. The first person she saw was Lex and many people know Lex to be a complete bastard. However, Darrah thought that Lex loved her so she figured he would never claim to dislike her in any way.
“Do you hate me?” she asked.
“Yes,” said Lex as he had nothing else to say.
“Then please never talk to me again,” said Darrah as she knew she had really gotten to Lex, or so she thought.
“Okay, bye!” Lex walked away smiling knowing that he never had to say another word to the psycho for as long as he lived.
Darrah then went to ask Rupert the same thing and she knew that Rupert loved her and would never do anything to hurt her. “Rupert, do you hate me? Apparently everyone hates me, but I’m sure they’re just jealous.”
“It took you this long to figure it out?” asked Rupert as he couldn’t believe that Darrah hadn’t realized this sooner.
“I can’t believe you Rupert!” exclaimed Darrah in shock.
“Sorry!” said Rupert. “But you annoy me way too much and you think your shit doesn’t stink.”
Darrah had continued to ask almost everyone in the senior class and all of them said that they hated her. She couldn’t believe it; she was so upset that she wanted to transfer schools. She hated Kim for it and considered Kim to be a “mega bitch” now, in her own words. Darrah did have one friend though that really did like her and her name was Erinn.
Erinn had her own problems though, which made her and Darrah a good combination. Erinn would go around pretending to be a girl named “Erinn” to get all of the boys to do what she wanted. She would do this by wearing a wig, make-up, shaving her legs, arms and face and dressing up like a girl. It had everyone fooled, even Kim, who was a friend of Erinn’s. However, Kim had soon found out that “Erinn” was in fact a guy named Aaron.
One day, Kim noticed pieces of hair sticking out beneath Erinn’s hair and it was a different color. At first, Kim didn’t think much of it because she assumed that Erinn had gotten highlights. However, this did not look like when someone gets highlights. To Kim, it looked more like a wig and she was very certain that that was what it was.
Kim ran into Erinn in the girls’ bathroom and Kim decided to see what was going on with Erinn’s hair. “Um Erinn, what’s going on with your hair?” asks Kim in confusion.
“Nothing, I got highlights for the prom,” says Erinn.
“Those don’t look like highlights to me, it looks like you’re wearing a wig,” says Kim in full confidence.
“A wig? I don’t need to wear wigs,” says Erinn as she flips her hair. While flipping her hair, the wig fell off of Erinn’s head.
“It is a wig! Why do you wear a wig?” asked Kim.
“Okay fine, I’m not actually a girl. I’m a guy and my name is Aaron. Please don’t tell anyone though, no one can find this out!” cried Aaron.
“I can’t believe you’ve been lying to everyone all along! Pay back is a must and I am not going to tell anyone, you are. At the prom, you’re going to announce this secret to everyone there and if not, I will. It’s your choice,” explained Kim in total anger.
“Please don’t make me do that! I’ll do anything! If you want, I won’t go to the prom!” begged Aaron as he got on his knees and hoped for some mercy.
“No, either you tell people or I will, it’s up to you,” said Kim in disgust.
“Fine, I’ll do it. I can’t believe you’re making me do this,” said Aaron as he continued to cry to Kim.
The next day, it was finally prom night. Everyone looked their best and they were all ready for the time of their lives. It was time to take pictures at someone’s house and there were twenty people that went to Amanda’s house. Erik had asked Amanda to go with him and she was more than happy to have the honor of going with him. All of the girls had their dressed and all of the guys had their tuxes on. Kim, Colleen and Jenna all had blue dresses on so Brett, Austin and Russell all matched their dates. Candice, Alina and Sierra all had red dresses on. Rupert was going with Candice, Lex had asked Alina to go with him and Todd and Sierra were set up to go together. All of those guys had red on to match their dates as well. “Erinn” and Danielle each had a yellow dress on and their dates, Hunter and Bobby, each wore yellow as well to match. Amanda and Erik were wearing purple and Amanda had one of her favorite hats on because she loves her hats. Brendan was supposed to go to the prom as well, but he had been killed the week before by Natalie who shot him, so he obviously was not attending the prom.
The limo arrived and it was time to make their way to the prom. However, Bobby was starting to feel really sick. He began getting an upset stomach and was feeling very dizzy. He wanted to go so bad, but thought it would be best if he went home and lied down for a little bit until he felt better. He felt awful leaving Danielle alone with no one to go with, but he promised her that he would show up eventually. Danielle was very upset and she had no one to go with, everyone else had someone and Danielle just felt all alone without Bobby. She knew that he would show up though because he promised her.
They finally got to the prom and everyone was read to have a great time. They were lined up to enter and Jenna had realized that she forgot her ticket.
“Oh no Austin, I forgot my ticket!” she cried.
“Are you sure it’s not in your purse or anything baby?” Austin asked.
“I’m positive! I checked three times and I can’t find it. I think I left it at the house,” Jenna explained.
“I’m sorry ma’am but I cannot let you in unless you have a ticket,” said security guard Fabio.
“Please sir! I just left my ticket at home!” she shouted.
“I’m sorry but rules are rules,” said Fabio.
“It’s okay baby, we’ll just go out to dinner or something,” said Austin.
“No no no, you stay and have a good time Austin!”
“But I want to spend the night with you,” Austin said as he was disappointed.
“Don’t worry, we’ll spend time together another time, this is your senior prom, you’ll never have another one,” Jenna explained as she kissed Austin on the cheek and walked out.
Everyone was upset that Jenna had to leave because everyone loved Jenna and loved being in her company. They knew that she would want them to have a good time and that is what they were going to do. Kim was very excited and she wanted to dance right away.
“Come on Brett, let’s go dance a little bit!” said Kim as she was really hoping Brett would go with her.
“I’m not much of a dancer Kim, I have never done it before,” said Brett.
“I’ll teach you!” said Kim in excitement.
Everyone else followed along and they all started dancing. Kim taught Brett some moves and she was so happy that he was willing to learn. He was becoming a natural right before her eyes and he loved every minute of it.
“Wow Kim! I never knew dancing could be this much fun!” he said in excitement. Kim just smiled and went on dancing with him for quite some time.
Kim then looked over at Aaron to see when he was going to make his announcement. She kept pointing towards the DJ stand where DJ Rob was there playing music and talking on his microphone. Aaron wouldn’t budge, so Kim excused herself from Brett for a moment and began walking over to DJ Rob. Aaron was very nervous about this so he just went over and did it to get it over with. He grabbed the microphone from DJ Rob and he said it.
“My gender is male, I am sorry everyone for the inconvenience.” Everyone was shocked, no one could believe it. Aaron then took off the wig and made it official. People were talking to each other about it for the next 30 minutes, but after that, everyone just went about their business and enjoyed the night.
Kim met Brett back on the dance floor and continued to have a good time. She looked over and saw Russell and Colleen dancing as well. She was so happy that everyone was having a good time.
However, as the night went on, Kim had met up with Todd on the dance floor and Kim never really had talked to Todd before the prom. She had heard that he was really good at dancing and she thought she was too. Todd was known as the dancing kind around the school, he dominated in dance competitions. Kim was watching Todd to see if she could learn a few moves of her own, but he was not very happy that she was watching him.
“What are you looking at?” he asked in anger.
“Just trying to learn a few moves, that’s all,” said Kim innocently.
“Well stop staring at me, it’s creepy and weird! If you want to learn a few moves, than let’s have a dance off!” shouted Todd as he began to pull out some of his best moves on Kim.
He started out with a moonwalk, followed by the worm. Kim was able to do those moves and she followed up by doing the “U Can’t Touch This” move and everyone started cheering for her. However, Todd did it with ease and countered with “the jerk.” Kim did that as well and couldn’t think of anything else to do, so she just did the lawn mower and the shopping cart.
“That’s all you can come up with?” Todd asked.
“Yes, I’m not much of a dancer,” said Kim.
“Well, I hold myself higher then moves like that, so I am not going to do those,” explained Todd as he walked away.
“You won Kim!” shouted Brett.
Kim was so happy; she had just beaten the best dancer in the school in a dance off. Everyone was so shocked and no one was expecting that at all. Todd walked out of the prom and hadn’t said a word to Kim or anyone else after that because he was so shocked that he let himself fall into a trap by Kim. Since Sierra was Todd’s date, Sierra decided to leave the prom because Todd had stopped talking to everyone. She was not having fun anymore and thought it would be best for her to just leave.
As the night went on, Bob still had not arrived and Danielle became more and more worried. She decided that she should head to Bob’s house to see if he was okay. She was calling Bob, but he was not answering. As she had left the prom to head to Bob’s house, Bob was heading to the prom to see Danielle like he had promised. However, his phone was dead and did not know that Danielle had been trying to call him. When he finally got to the prom, he was looking for Danielle and asking around to see if people knew where she went.
“Have you seen Danielle at all?” he asked Russell.
“No I haven’t, I don’t talk to that bitch after what happened with us last year,” he explained to Bob.
“You don’t know if she left?” he asked.
“No I don’t Bob, but I know Danielle was talking to DJ Rob a little bit ago,” Russell said.
Bob then made his way over to DJ Rob to see if he knew anything. “Did Danielle say anything about leaving the prom?”
“She said she might leave to go see if you were alright because you weren’t answering your phone,” said Rob as he continued to make music on the ones and twos.
“My phone is dead and I came back like I told her I would!” shouted Bob as he couldn’t hear what Rob was saying with the loud music. Bob ended up leaving the prom to go find Danielle because he wanted to spend the special night with her, even if it meant not being at the prom.
In the meantime, Hunter had been disgusted by Aaron’s announcement. He had no idea and he was disgusted by the fact that he took a man to the prom with him. He and Aaron got in a huge argument over it and Hunter ended up leaving the prom as well due to how angry he was about it. His night had been ruined and he was so done with everyone that he just left.
What was supposed to be a terrific night was slowly turning into an awful one. DJ Rob continue to play his mixes, Kim and Brett continued to dance the night away, as did Russell and Colleen. Austin was not having as much fun since Jenna had to leave, but he was having a good time spending the night with his friends. Lex and Alina were having a good time with each other as well and Amanda and Erik also were having a blast.
The night eventually did come to an end though and everyone ended up going back to Amanda’s house to sleep over. Only the people that stayed at the prom went back to Amanda’s house, but they still were having a lot of fun.
“This really was a great night guys and I’m glad that you could all be a part of this experience with me. Thank you guys so much and I’m glad I had the chance to get to know each one of you better from this experience. You guys really all mad it worth my while!” explained Amanda to the rest of the group.
Everyone else just smiled at Amanda and thanked her for the great time and letting her spend the night at her house. They all had a great time together and were glad to be surrounded by whatever friends were at Amanda’s house.
